Today I thought I would blog about something me and my closest friends have thought about a lot recently and that is the incredibly challenging thing in life especially when you are a teenager and that is...
Being Positive.
Positivity can be looked upon in many different ways some more positive then negative (see even positivity can have its negatives.) Some people can see it as believing in yourself and trying hard for something that you want, others can see it as just being to happy and never thinking practically (personally I think is a bad way to think of being positive) and some people think that its a great thing and that being positive will give you a much better outlook on life being able to find the good side of everything you face.
Especially when you are young in your teens and early twenties and even all the way through life many things can cause you too do one thing that is very common and that is the dreaded way of Over Thinking. Over thinking is when you take very ordinary and normal situtations that you may be in or an trouble you are having and just multiply it by 1000000 in your thoughts and you start to think and imagine that everything is worse that it is in reality. Be honest guys; we all do it right? Lying in bed at night and your brain is in a whirl over a mix of things.
People can over think about thing such as:
- School work/ Exams.
- Work and other jobs.
- Relationships/ Relationship troubles.
- The way they look.
- Their health.
- What someone thinks of them.
- Friendship/ Friendship problems.
This can often cause someone to have negative feelings or thoughts towards the thing that they overthinking which can put you off whatever the topic may be for ages (trust me I know the feeling and also I am blogging in class right now and the people next to me are looking at me as if I'm mental... oh well never mind them :)
See? I over thought that, they may not think I'm weird although they probably are they may just be having a look at what I am doing as they dont see people doing this type of thing very often.
There are a range of ways to be able to think more positive and to have more faith in yourself:
- Listen to music that makes you smile (nothing depressing.)
- Go out and see friends and people who make you smike.
- Be yourself - if you are yourself you can make yourself happier and feel more comfortable in your own skin.
- When you find a situation put down all the positives and that way it may make the situation not seem so bad.
- Take lots of photos and videos. - This is what I use a lot, you are then able to look at them back and see all of the happy memories with people you love and it really does give you a boost.
- Finally : DON'T WORRY - I know this is so much easier said than done but I promise you worrying just makes everything 100% worse than it needs to be and remember this quote I was told.
"The majority of the things you worry about NEVER happen."
